CIVIC TRUST AWARDS 2000

The Civic Trust has done much over the last 40 years to keep design alive and now as part of the core emphasis of the Government’s desire for social and physical reconstruction, poor design will no longer be acceptable under Best Value criteria. This is most encouraging and there is much quality in last year’s Civic Trust Awards. Let us hope that the future will demonstrate a continuing improvement in design generally. A selection of conservation and restoration schemes follows showing excellent examples of regeneration.
